HOW WAY COOL!!! I have so enjoyed looking through your blog and Jaylin (sp?) is beautiful!!!

I wanted to ask you a question about Korea. I thought that you could not get a girl from Korea unless you had already adopted a boy. Has that changed? Obviously you got your girl so YAAAAA!!!!!

Also, how long did the process take for Korea?

I am so happy for you guys and I hope you get your little girl SOOOOOONNNNN!!!!

Hi,
She's such a cutie!! My husband and I have been discussing switching to Korea also (China LID 5/25/07) but aren't sure where to begin. We live in Mass. Do you have any suggestions?

Shannon,
I'm not sure I can help you to much. Our agency does adoption in Korea and China. They are Dillon International. I think you have to use certain agencies for Korea, depending on where you live. Check out Holt international forum on Korea. Ask your question and I'm sure you will get your answer there. Good luck, its scarey making the change, but we are so happy we did.

I just found your blog and I'm very happy for your referral! Can I ask what your China LID date was? When did you make the switch, tyring to figure out how long it takes for Korea. I am just sitting here getting old waiting for our baby and it breaks my heart. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks so much for the suggestions. We're finding it so hard to decide to make the switch. We're so nervous that this program will change and some of the agencies we've spoken to have mentioned a quota which makes us a little nervous. Any thoughts on that or timeframes/stability? We appreciate your time. It won't be long now before you get to hold your sweet little girl!!! Thanks so much

Shannon,
From what I understand China has quotas also, they just don't make it public knowledge. As with any international adoption things can change very quickly. We got lucky in making the switch things just fell into place. I would talk to the agencies directly they can give you a little more info. We were told at least 6-12 months and it happened really fast. We were placed on the list in Dec 07 and got our referral in Jan 22, 08
Good luck with whatever you decide and let me know if you have any more questions. Glad to try to help you out.
